Physical Therapy for Adults with I/DD
Strength, mobility, and confidence in movement open the door to everything else — community life, work, and independence at home. Priority Group Services coordinates physical therapy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as part of their NJ DDD service plan.
How Physical Therapy Helps
Physical therapists evaluate strength, balance, mobility, and movement patterns, then build an individualized program to improve function and prevent injury. For adults with I/DD, PT often focuses on safe mobility at home and in the community, endurance for daily activities, and reducing fall risk.
Programs are practical and goal-based — designed around what the individual wants to be able to do, and coordinated with their broader DDD person-centered plan.

How It Works With Your NJ DDD Plan
Services are delivered through New Jersey’s Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) programs. Your Support Coordinator adds Physical Therapy to the individual’s person-centered plan, and we take it from there — matching staff, building the schedule, and reporting progress against the plan’s goals. If you don’t yet have a Support Coordinator, we can point you in the right direction.
